Introduction - What White People Should NOT Do
Yaa' at 'eeh! (Hello in Dine' language) Are you Navajo? Are you Native? If you are then I bet you can relate to this upcoming blog I"m starting. This blog will concentrate on discussing situations White persons do that may be agitating to us Natives. This blog will discuss things White persons should not do or say. This blog will open a dialogue so White persons can read this and be a bit more culturally responsive and mindful about the things they are saying and/or doing that is not so culturally appropriate towards us Natives. This blog may discuss things that could be racially sensitive and may make White persons feel a bit uncomfortable due to that. This blog will address stereotypes of our people. This blog will use Native humor and sarcasm. However, this blog is not coming from a disrespectful place, but merely to state what is appropriate and inappropriate based on our daily lived experiences as Natives.
